Replacement of Work Permit Card


Damaged Work Permit Card

Employers of Foreign Domestic Workers must report the damaged card and apply for a replacement within seven days from noticing the damage. To get a replacement card, submit the request through Work Permit Online (WPOL). This service is available from 8am - 8pm (Monday to Friday) and 8am - 2pm (Saturday), excluding public holidays.

Who can request for card replacement?

  • The employer
  • An authorised third party (e.g. an Employment Agency)

Payment of Fees

A fee of $60 must be paid in order to complete the replacement request. You can pay using GIRO (for existing GIRO users), eNETS Credit or Debit. Once you submit the request, no withdrawal and fee refund is allowed.

Card collection

The replacement card can be collected from the service desk at the MOM Services Centre - Hall C after four working days. You need to bring along the following documents:

  • Original passport of the worker
  • The damaged card
  • The card replacement notification letter (issued upon approval of the replacement request)
  • An authorisation letter if a representative or employment agent is collecting the card on behalf of the worker.

Lost Work Permit Card

Employers of Foreign Domestic Workers must report a lost or stolen card and apply for a replacement within seven days. A police report is required if the card is stolen. To get a replacement card, submit the request through Work Permit Online (WPOL). This service is available from 8am – 8pm (Monday to Friday) and 8am – 2pm (Saturday), excluding public holidays.

Note

  • If the lost card is found after getting a replacement, the lost card must be returned to MOM immediately.
  • For those who lose their Work Permit cards overseas must obtain a Disembarkation/Embarkation card for Visitors when returning to Singapore.

Card collection

The card will be ready for collection four working days after submitting the request. The worker must collect the card in person from the service desk at the MOM Services Centre - Hall C. She need to bring along the following documents:

  • Original passport
  • Completed declaration form
  • The card replacement notification letter (issued upon approval of the replacement request)
  • A police report (applicable if the card is stolen).

Important message to you

  • The application for card replacement is subject to approval. MOM may call for an interview at any time, with the employer and worker before issuing the replacement card.
  • Workers who lose their cards repeatedly are required to make an appointment via Appointment@MOM system to attend an interview together with the employer, and an English interpreter (if needed). The card replacement request can be submitted online via eReplacement only when approval is given by MOM officers after the interview.
  • Workers must handle their Work Permit cards with care at all times. Employers are also reminded to educate their workers on proper handling of their cards. Strict action will be taken against the employers and workers who are found making false declarations on the loss of their cards.
