Work Permit (Foreign Domestic Worker) - After you apply
Collection of Work Permit
Upon approval of the request for issuance of the Work Permit (WP), the Foreign Domestic Worker (FDW) should proceed to the Work Pass Services Centre with the Work Permit issuance notification letter within seven days for fingerprinting and photo imaging. The Work Permit card will subsequently be ready for collection in four working days.

If a representative is coming on the employer’s behalf, a letter of authorisation signed by the employer, indicating both the foreigner's and the representative's particulars. The representative must also bring an official identification document that shows his/her name, NRIC/ travel document no. and photo-image, for verification at the point of card collection. Cancellation of In-Principle Approval (IPA)
You should cancel the In-Principle Approval (IPA) for your Foreign Domestic Worker (FDW) if you no longer wish to request for the issuance of the Work Permit. This can be done:
Online cancellation
Online cancellation through
WP Online is only applicable if the Foreign Worker is not in Singapore.
Manual cancellation via iSubmit
The employer may submit the request for cancellation of the IPA manually if the Foreign Domestic Worker will be leaving Singapore with the Short Term Visit Pass granted by Immigration & Checkpoints Authority or have already exited Singapore. This can be done by:
- An electronic submission of the required documents using the iSubmit web portal. Please select ‘8. Cancellation Matters’ under 'Request Type' on the iSubmit portal; or
- Mailing the required documents to the following address:

Documents Required for IPA Cancellation
- A request letter from the employer to cancel the IPA, indicating the following:
- Foreign Domestic Worker's name
- Work Permit number
- Date of Work Permit application
- Foreign Domestic Worker's departure date
- Employer's contact number
- The completed Work Permit application form
- A clear photocopy of the employer’s and spouse’s Income Tax Notice of Assessment
- A clear copy of the employer's Identity Card (For Singaporean/Malaysian only)
- A clear copy of the employer's passport and Employment Pass card (For Employment Pass holders only)
- A clear photocopy of the Personal Accident Insurance, if the Security Bond has been executed
- A clear photocopy of the Security Bond form and schedule list, if the Security Bond has been executed.
At MOM's Work Pass counters
For Foreign Domestic Worker who has arrived in Singapore and require a Special Pass to leave Singapore
The employer has to take a Q-ticket from the self-service Q-ticket machine on Level 1, Ministry of Manpower building and submit the following documents to the Work Pass Counter:
- A request letter from the employer to cancel the In-Principle Approval, indicating the following:
- Foreign Domestic Worker's name
- Work Permit number
- Date of Work Permit application
- Employer's contact number
- The original In-Principle Approval or Letter of Notification to bring Foreign Domestic Worker into Singapore (For 1st time Foreign Domestic Worker)
- The Foreign Domestic Worker 's passport and a clear photocopy of the personal particulars page
- A clear photocopy of the employer's Identity Card (For Singaporean/Malaysian only)
- A clear photocopy of the employer's passport and Employment Pass card (For Employment Pass holders only)
- A clear photocopy of the employer's and spouse's Income Tax Notice of Assessment
- The original copy of the Security Bond form and schedule list
- A carbon copy of the Personal Accident Insurance
- A confirmed travel ticket to repatriate the worker to her home country within the next seven days from the date the documents are submitted
- A set of Work Permit application form printed from WP Online, if application is submitted online. The application form must be signed and endorsed with company's stamp.
