How to Renew your Employment Agency Licence

Employment agencies who wish to renew their licences upon its expiry on or after 1 April 2011 will need to choose either a Comprehensive Licence or Select Licence.

Receiving the invitation for renewal

Employment agencies which qualify for a renewal will receive an email renewal notification from the Ministry. This email notification will contain a Renewal Request Notice number. 

 

Renewal process 

 (a) Submission of Renewal Request and payment of Renewal Application Fee

If you intend to renew your licence, you will need to submit your Renewal Request Notice (RRN) and pay the application fee of $400 in Online Business Licensing Service (OBLS).   

A non-refundable application fee of $400 is required for an application.

 (b) Preparation of security bond

Upon receiving the RRN letter, you can proceed to prepare your Security Bond (SB) and Banker’s Guarantee (BG). The security deposit amount required will depend on the following:

• The licence class chosen (Select or Comprehensive)
• For Comprehensive licence, your Work Permit and S Pass placements and demerit point accumulated over the past 12 months

You can refer to the Security Deposit Framework together with the Employment Agency Directory to determine the amount of SB that will be needed for your renewal.

*The Security Deposit period must be valid for six months after the expiry date of the licence to ensure that the employment agency (EA) fulfills its responsibilities to its client. E.g. EA’s security deposit may be forfeited if it fails to return 50% of the agency’s fee to workers whose employment has been prematurely terminated within six months.

Payment for licence

If your licence renewal application is approved, you will receive a notification from OBLS stating that your licence renewal is approved pending payment for licence issuance.Please log onto OBLS to pay the issuance of licence fee of $100, valid for three years.

All payments can be made online using:

a. Credit Card (Visa/Mastercard), or

b. Internet Banking

Payment takes three working days to process (excluding day of payment). MOM will issue your licence and mail it to your operating address once payment has been processed.

Do note that a new licence number will be issued to your employment agency upon successful renewal.
