You will need to complete both steps 1 and 2.
- Submit a request to MOM to stop GIRO deduction for levy:
Processing time is 3 working days.
- Contact your bank to terminate the GIRO arrangement. (Note: The bank does not allow MOM to do this on your behalf.)
If you only complete step 1, MOM will stop deducting levy from your GIRO bank account but your bank records will still show that your GIRO arrangement is active.
If you only complete step 2, your bank will terminate your GIRO arrangement and stop levy deductions from your GIRO account. However, your levy bills and Check and pay levy eService will still show that your GIRO arrangement is active.
