Why should I inform MOM or TAFEP of an upcoming retrenchment exercise?

You should inform MOM or TAFEP about your retrenchment exercise so that tripartite partners and the relevant agencies such as WDA, NTUC’s U PME Centre and the Employment and Employability Institute (e2i) can work with you to help your affected local employees.

TAFEP can also advise you on how to carry out retrenchments responsibly and sensitively, keeping in mind the impact on your affected employees.

If labour issues arise from the retrenchment exercise, MOM or the tripartite partners can also help you.
