WoW! Fund: How to Apply
The organisation needs to appoint a project leader and a Work-Life champion for its project:
- Project leader: He/She is the key person implementing the project and acts as the liaison person with MOM.
- Work-Life champion: He/She is from senior management and is held responsible for the project success and the grant. This person may also serve as the project leader.
With effect from 1 March 2011, it is a requirement for the project leader and Work-Life champion to attend the WoW! Fund Briefing before the organisation applies for the WoW! Fund. This requirement applies to applications that are received from 1 March 2011 onwards. The project leader should attend the Work-Life training upon approval, or even before the organisation applies for the fund. Some Work-Life knowledge is necessary to develop an application grounded in sound Work-Life intention, which enhances the chance of the application being approved. The organisation bears the risk of incurring this cost fully if its application is subsequently rejected. Only Work-Life training approved by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) is eligible for funding. Upcoming courses can be found at the Calendar of Work-Life activities.
The project must be completed within one year from the date of approval.
Application Procedure
Applications are accepted throughout the year and there is no closing date. The application comprises the following documents, which must be submitted together:
Application form (new!) - please submit it in MS Word format. With this new application form, it is not necessary to submit a separate Work-Life proposal. Applications that do not use the new form will be rejected;
- ACRA / Business profile information (dated within 3 months of application); and
- Quotations of items/services requested (if any)
Applications should be emailed to mom_worklife@mom.gov.sg.
Applications that are incomplete will be rejected. MOM reserves the right not to entertain unsuccessful applications on details of their rejection.
Prior approval is required before incurring any cost related to the project (exception is made for the project leader's Work-Life training).
Approval of project proposal does not equate to reimbursement, which will only be made to upon the successful achievement of project outcome targets. MOM reserves the right to audit successful applicants at random to ensure that the Work-Life grant is used appropriately.
Assessment Criteria
There must be sound Work-Life intention and the proposed Work-Life strategies are relevant to the employees and organisation. Applications with prudent requests, have higher impact and are more innovative vis-a-vis the rest will stand a higher chance of receiving in-principle approval.
Applications that are unable to establish the Work-Life intention, or which are unable to show that the organisation has the capacity to undertake the project, will be rejected. Applications that do not meet criteria or are incomplete will not be considered for funding.
